Embattled Congolese musician Koffi Olomide has been arrested in Kinshasa, Congo for kicking a female member of his band in Nairobi.
The musician was nabbed at his house on Tuesday morning following a directive from the public prosecutor in the country.
Initial reports from Kinshasa-based journalists who broke the news indicated that he was arrested due to the assault incident at Jomo Kenyatta Airport.
The rhumba maestro was apprehended a few days after arriving in Kinsasha following deportation from Kenya.
On Sunday, Olomide’s woes deepened further after Zambia cancelled three of his concerts that were scheduled for this year due to public outrage after the assault in Kenya.
