Controversial musician Jackson Makini, popularly known as Prezzo, is set to be arraigned in court on Monday after he allegedly assaulted a resident of Nyayo estate, Embakasi.
Prezzo reportedly attempted to force himself into the vehicle of the Nyayo estate resident who declined to allow him into his car sparking a fight where the rapper supposedly slapped and threatened him.
According to reports, the motorist is a Kenya Airways pilot identified as Stanley Kipchumba and was driving into Nyayo Estate where he resides before he was confronted by a drunk Prezzo.
Confirming the incident, Embakasi DCIO Ephantus Kimulwa stated that Mr Makini was in police custody and would be arraigned in court to face charges of assault.
“At around noon on Saturday, KQ pilot Stanley Kipchumba drove into Nyayo Estate where he resides and parked his car. As he was offloading shopping items from the boot, Prezzo with two other men, seemingly inebriated, approached Stanley and asked him to drop them in town. Stanley responded that he does not operate a taxi. At this point, Prezzo asked him, “Kwani hujui mimi ni nani?” (You don’t know who I am?)”, Kimulwa said.
Guards at the estate are said to have alerted police officers from Embakasi Police Station, who arrested and booked the artiste. According to residents, his accomplices fled after the police were called and one of their cars was towed away.
