Since the French government banned wearing of burkini. the police have been working tirelessly to ensure that the law is enforced.
Muslim women have been stopped by police and even fined on streets for going against the law.
The latest case involved a woman who was ordered by the police at a public beach to remove her burkini in front of everyone or risk being arrested.
Four police officers stood over the middle-aged woman, who had been quietly sunbathing on the Promenade des Anglais beach in Nice – a few metros from the scene of the Bastille Day lorry attack – and watched her take off a Muslim-style garment which protected her modesty.
According to the people at the scene, the woman was given a warning about the dress code on the beach and was handed an on-the-spot fine required by the law.
