Patients who are Terminally ill at a hospital in France will soon enjoy fine wines during their last days of existence.
this will happen at the Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital, where the management has decided to open its bar in several months.
The bar and lounge will be located in the hospice, and hospital patients will be able to invite family and friends to share a drink with them.
It will be the first of its kind in France. It is expected to improve the everyday lives of patients,” the hospital manager said. “Our goal is to humanize the patients, improve the quality of their lives on a day-to-day basis, and it will also give them the pleasure of being able to give and receive,” the manager said.
“It’s a small detail, but it can make all the difference,” the manager concluded. The hospital staff members are receiving special training from a Social Anthropologist on how to manage patients who come to the bar.
In addition to the wines, the bar will also sell beer, whiskey and champagne.
