New details have been revealed about the school bus accident that claimed four students of St. Mary’s Nyamagwa Girls and injured over 50 students.
According to the National Transport and Safety Authority records, it is revealed that the bus as it has now been revealed, being driven at a speed of more than 100km/hr when the driver lost control.
NTSA Deputy Director Benjamin Kibogong said in a statement that the driver at the incidence was not authorized to drive a bus and has since been arrested.
The brand new bus which was going through its first drive test with students rolled just a few meters from the school as the girls were returning from a drive to celebrate its purchase. Four girls are said to have succumbed to injuries with others receiving treatment at Kisii Level Five Hospital.
