Some time back in 2008 Nyandarua residents were lived in fear of the dark after it emerged that a ghost killer was walking around in the dark killing and drinking human blood and by good chance a man by the name Geoffrey Njoroge Matheri was arrested and charged with murder.
Well on Friday Lady Justice Maureen Odero ruled that the suspect could not be convicted due to lack of sufficient evidence and therefore set him free.
“The prosecution’s case lacked cogency and failed to prove the charge of murder as required by the standard of law. The accused is to be set at liberty forthwith unless he is otherwise lawfully held,” said Lady Justice Odero.
Minutes after he was set free members of the public descended on him and gave him a ruthless beating in the name of revenge for the heinous killings committed in the past.
Reports have it that he was rushed to a hospital in Kinagop.
