Nairobi residents will go without water for at least two days as the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company shuts the Ngethu treatment plant for maintenance.
According to a statement by the water company which was made on Tuesday September 13th, the interruption of water supply will be on Thursday and Friday.
The Ngethu water treatment plant supplies about 85 per cent of Nairobi residents and the plant will be shut down to allow a reservoir outlet valve to be installed in Gigiri.
“The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company would like to inform its esteemed customers that there will be a scheduled shutdown of the of the Ngethu water treatment plant on Thursday, September 15, 2016 and Friday September 16, 2016,” read the statement.
The company said the scheduled maintenance will enhance the production of water and ensure effective distribution.
