Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro says he will never play for Barcelona, despite some media confusing his words in an interview with Onda Cero: “I’ll never play in Barcelona, because in Spain I am a Real Madrid supporter,” he said.
On his life at Madrid, he added: “Real Madrid is much more than I expected. I love waking up in the morning and going to Valdebebas. I love being with the players, joking, working, learning. I try to live football every day.”
He also gave his opinion on the Ballon d’Or with his childhood friend Neymar and his team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo both making the podium last time out. And he backed the Portuguese to win it again this year.
Casemiro added: “I’ve known [Neymar] since we were young. He’s a great player. What Cristiano Ronaldo has done in the last 10 years should remembered for life.
“Neymar has been there for three or four years. Ronaldo for 10 years. It is all still ahead of Neymar. Cristiano will win the Ballon d’Or again this year. With the year he has had, with the Champions League and the Euros, it is certain.”
