Kenyan man charged with raping disabled woman 21 times in Brisbane, Australia

A 21-year-old Kenyan man was formally charged on Monday, with over 20 counts of rape of a disabled woman in his care in the Australian state of Queensland.

The man, who cannot be named due to a gag order, has been living in Australia on a student visa and has been charged with 21 counts of rape, and eight other counts of assault, for his alleged actions while working as a carer near the city of Brisbane, which is said to have happened between July and November last year.

The court heard the victim had visited Kenya recently, and while there she told to a friend that she had been attacked by the carer.

He was granted bail on the condition he would surrender his passport, not have any contact with the alleged victim or witnesses, not go within 300 metres of an international departure point and regularly report to police.
